Daniel Derksen, MDJoin Daniel Derksen, MD, as he discusses the current state of the Affordable Care Act, as well as the latest details of health care reform in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Derksen is the Walter H. Pearce Endowed Chair; a professor in the Public Health Policy and Management Program at UA’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health; and director of the Center for Rural Health (AzCRH) in Tucson. As AzCRH Director, he oversees the State Office of Rural Health (AzSORH), the Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (AzFlex), the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (AzSHIP) and the AzCRH Navigator Consortium. 

After graduating from the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson in 1984, Dr. Derksen completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of New Mexico, where he worked as a faculty member for 25 years.
