Join us as we present our inaugural Inclusive Excellence Speaker, Oluwaferanmi “Feranmi” Okanlami, MD, MS, on the topic Intersections of Disability and Medicine.

Oluwaferanmi “Feranmi” Okanlami, MD, MSDr. Okanlami is on a mission to “disabuse disability” by proving that disabled does not mean unable. As an assistant professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the director of Medical Student Programs in the Office for Health Equity and Inclusion at the University of Michigan, he advocates and mentors physicians and patients with similar backgrounds.

Appetizers and beverages will be provided at 5:00 p.m.

Presented by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Inclusive Excellence Speaker Series brings fresh perspective voices that share stories which are not being told. This is an opportunity for medical students, faculty, staff, residents, post-docs/fellows and the community to hear these stories first-hand.
