Why Arizona and UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: I fell in love with Arizona during medical school and decided to stay due to the warm weather, wealth of outdoor activities and close proximity to loved ones. Phoenix has plenty to offer in terms of food, music, sports and entertainment that makes it an exciting city to live. After rotating at the College of Medicine – Phoenix, I was impressed by the supportive, family feel of the program and the kindness of the residents and staff. The program is also very strong in both outpatient and consult psychiatry, which are two of my career interests.

Why Arizona and UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: The first thing that I noticed when rotating through the College of Medicine – Phoenix Psychiatry Program as a medical student was the wonderful culture. It was apparent that the faculty are all thoroughly invested in the growth and development of the students and residents. The residents are all extremely friendly and supportive, as well. These aspects of the program made it an easy choice to complete my residency training here. I know that this program will help me grow into a psychiatrist who provides excellent care to my patients. Additionally, as an Arizona native, I love that I get to stay in my home state and help the local community.

Why Arizona and UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: I'm originally from Southern Arizona, and I knew I wanted to continue my training in our wonderful state. Phoenix has something to offer everyone, and I've really enjoyed living here for the past 20+ years! I chose College of Medicine – Phoenix because I had amazing experiences rotating here as a medical student. In particular, I was astounded by the genuinely caring and respectful faculty in our program. The residents I worked with during my medical student rotations were happy and felt supported, which is so important during residency. Even as a third-year medical student, I knew this program would be my top choice, and I am so thrilled to be here!

Why Arizona and UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: I chose the Banner/College of Medicine – Phoenix program because of its exceedingly high standards of patient care, commitment to evidence-based medicine and the diversity of the patient population. Aside from the support and camaraderie that are its hallmarks, this program offers exceptional training that produces well-rounded physicians who are able to treat patients with diverse pathologies in a variety of settings. The program also offers educational autonomy, so that I may continue to explore interests in bioethics, addiction medicine, biological etiologies of psychiatric disease and the psychiatric comorbidities of terminal illness.

Why Arizona and UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: Ever since I was two, I've called the state of Arizona home. Over the years, I have been incredibly grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had here and sought a way to give back to the communities that have given me so much. Arizona has great restaurants, breweries and a lot of ways to connect with nature. I chose College of Medicine – Phoenix because of the excellence in teaching, the strong cohesion between residents and faculty, and the opportunity to continue serving the Phoenix community.
