The program is well-rounded with a high volume of complex trauma, TMJ, dentoalveolar and implant experience. It's an academically challenging, but welcoming environment that trains you to be an excellent surgeon. I'm extremely happy and fortunate to be part of the program and team.

I felt very welcome when I first visited the program, and it was clear to me that the residents were very happy with this program. Also, coming from New York, I am looking forward to the amazing weather!

Why Arizona and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix: This is a unique culture where people are excited about coming to work everyday; this includes the residents, the attendings, other teams in the hospital, nurses, staff, etc. The scope of work is broad and well rounded. This is one of the only programs where Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery takes head and neck trauma calls 365 days a year. When it comes to trauma, implants, TMJ and an overall well-rounded program, this is one of the best programs in one of the nation's best cities.

What really sets this program apart are the residents and faculty. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery resident camaraderie is unrivaled anywhere, and the faculty are all top notch.

Why Arizona and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix: The residents and attendings here are amazing! There is so much camaraderie in our group, and we have a dedicated faculty, who are great teachers. Besides the people, what really attracted me to this program was the unparalleled implant, TMJ and trauma training we receive here. It is not only a truly well-balanced and strong program, but it has the advantage of being fairly new and, therefore, flexible toward making it even better. Not to mention that Arizona IS an amazing place to live! My wife and I couldn't be happier here. This program trains well-rounded surgeons, and I feel very fortunate to be here in this amazing learning environment with as many opportunities as this program affords.

Why Arizona and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix: Coming from a newer dental school, I saw the positive effect each individual has in molding a program in its infancy. When visiting Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix and interacting with the residents, attendings and staff, I became excited about being part of establishing a program that produces skilled and highly trained surgeons. After joining the residency, I knew I had made the right decision, as the resident culture and close bond between all our residents and faculty has enriched this time of my life.

It is a busy program that has a well-rounded scope of practice. This is difficult to come across and allows for a very unique training opportunity. In addition, I am a born and raised Phoenician. I have a strong connection to this city and the people of it. I am honored with the opportunity to help and give back to the community that has given me so much in life.
