Why Arizona and UA College of Medicine – Phoenix:
Exposure to Chemical Dependency during intern year, exposure to training at a VA hospital, opportunities for outreach to rural areas, ample teaching opportunities, and the opportunity to work at a large university medical center. I was also excited to explore all that the state of Arizona has to offer, including plenty of hiking opportunities at state parks and national parks, a thriving culture of art and music, an array of museums, and of course a host of delicious restaurants.

Why Arizona and UA College of Medicine – Phoenix:
I grew up in Phoenix and knew I wanted to come back to train and be close to family. Plus, my husband trained here and had a great experience and I knew that the program was a supportive and friendly place to be; I wanted to be part of that! I also like that the program has so much outpatient experience because that is what I want to do when I’m done with training.

Why Arizona and UA College of Medicine – Phoenix:
After my interview day, I fell in love with this program. It stuck out to me because of the kind residents and attendings who promoted a friendly environment that prioritized teaching and resident well-being. Phoenix is a large city with so much to do! I was looking to move back west close to my family in San Diego and my brother in Tucson, so Phoenix was a ideal location for me. I am so happy that I matched here and look forward to experiencing all that Phoenix and this program have to offer!
