I initially applied to the program in Arizona as it was home to my family, and I loved the state growing up. When I interviewed at Banner, it felt like a great fit. The attendings seemed encouraging and attentive, and the residents were happy and satisfied. After a year, I feel like my impressions were correct.

I chose Banner because I had an instant connection with all of the faulty and the staff. I also love living in Arizona and wanted to stay in the Phoenix area, where I fell in love with the weather and all of the activities there are to offer.

Undergraduate: Queen Mary College, University of London, London, England Medical School: Rush Medical College Why Arizona and UA College of Medicine – Phoenix: Phoenix is a good place for young families, with affordable housing and some great schools. My first winter here, after living in Chicago for several years, felt like a vacation...As the Phonecians are fond of saying: "You don't have to shovel sunshine!"

I felt that the program faculty were supportive and cared a lot about their residents, who seem very close and happy training here. The location and outdoor activities were definitely another plus.

Undergraduate: University of Utah Medical School: Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine – Midwestern University Why Arizona and UA College of Medicine – Phoenix: Arizona is an appealing location to train because of the cultural diversity and centralized location offering access to many southwest destinations. I chose to train at Banner because I appreciate the culture of the program and sense of family within the department.
