The Clerkships allow students to learn in the clinical setting and become active members of the health care team.
Students rotate through eight core clerkships: Family, Community and Preventive Medicine; Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology; Pediatrics; Psychiatry and Surgery, which occur during the third year. The Emergency Medicine and Neurology clerkships occur during the fourth year.
The clerkship experience includes interactive learning sessions on academic half-days, simulation activities and clinical site participation. Clinical assignments include both urban and rural sites.
