  • Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Procedure Training – Residents have multiple opportunities to learn and practice ultrasound and procedural skills.

  • Committed to Resident Wellness – Coaching program, social activities, retreats, FLEX and FOCUS day programs to allow schedule flexibility and days off (i.e., for doctors’ appointments, fellowship/job interviews, illness, special family and religious events, conference travel, etc.), faculty role models.
     
  • Career Development and Preparation for Fellowship Applications – Research collaboration, away rotations, interview preparation, CV/resume preparation.  
     
  • Leadership and Teaching Skills – Students on every team, workshops to enhance teaching, Housestaff council elected positions, positions on hospital committees, ACP membership for all residents, Resident Leadership Development course/PIE Certificate.
     
  • Resident involvement in Program Improvements – We have four program improvement teams per year and an active residency housestaff council. Residents provide feedback in many ways to drive change in our program.
