As our campus grows, we continue to welcome students from all walks of life and seek new ways to commemorate our diverse campus cultures. On Friday, August 16, the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix's Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host a Blessing Ceremony to begin the academic year, as well as to celebrate all of the Phoenix Biomedical Campus students of American Indian and Alaskan Native descent. All of our campus colleagues are welcome to attend this ceremony!
The ceremony will be held in the Grand Canyon, the outdoor breezeway of the Health Sciences Education Building and the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building. During the program, each attendee will be acknowledged by a traditional healer. In addition, our students of American Indian and Alaskan Native will be offered words of encouragement and a blessing as they embark upon, or continue, their educational journey.
