The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Pheonix, along with our partners, Cox Communications and the Arizona SciTech Institute, presents Connect2STEM — a family friendly event, which celebrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine. The event is officially the largest STEM-related event held in Phoenix. Through this event, youth of all ages are able to experience the wonders of STEM, encouraging them to one day pursue a degree or occupation in one of the related fields.
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In our case, we add medicine to those disciplines.
Many of Connect2STEM’s activities are geared toward K-8th grade youth. Although that is the core audience, Connect2STEM also offers interactive experiences with equipment from our Center for Simulation and Innovation that are meant to engage attendees who are in high school.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Connect2STEM 2021 will be a drive thru event only. No food or drinks will be offered during the event.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's in-person Connect2STEM experience will be a drive thru event only. Parking will not be necessary for the event, which will be held in the Phoenix Biomedical Campus garage, 555 E. Fillmore St., Phoenix, AZ 85004.
In its six years, the event has drawn more than 55 different departments, clubs, schools and organizations to participate. This includes all three state universities — University of Arizona, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University; corporations like APS, Google, Intel and Blue Cross Blue Shield; community partners of the college, such as the Children’s Museum of Phoenix and the Arizona Science Center and many more.
