This Thanksgiving season, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for all you have done to make our College of Medicine – Phoenix great. I am immensely proud of our medical students, residents, faculty, staff and alumni for your tireless work to treat and heal the communities we serve.
I have witnessed how you came together in the face of constant changes, adapting and learning from the circumstances and each other. Thanks to this commitment, we continued to deliver outstanding education and groundbreaking research. Together, we supported hard hit areas and helped raise thousands of dollars in scholarships. We worked with our core LCME team for more than a year to prepare for our re-accreditation, contributing hours of meetings, constructive criticism and hundreds of documents.
Undoubtedly, these achievements would not have been possible without the support of our loved ones, families and friends. Our colleagues from the University, Health Sciences, city and donors helped make it possible for us to train the next generation of physicians, scientists and leaders for our community.
In countless ways, you have made the college a more understanding, inclusive and exciting place to be — one we can all be proud of.
For all these reasons and so many, many more, I find myself...Giving thanks for all of you.
Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving,
Guy L. Reed, MD, MS
