Our fellows are orthopaedic surgeons and plastic surgeons that come to us from all over the US and Canada. Occasionally, we have non-accredited international fellows visiting with us for research and observational clinical experience. Our fellows are diverse in backgrounds, training, race and gender. This program attracts a good mix of fellows interested in either academics, community practice, or some hybrid variety. Our fellows enjoy being recruited heavily for desirable job opportunities around the country.

Our faculty are all fellowship-trained, subspecializing in all aspects of relevant adult and pediatric hand surgery; this includes a specialist in musculoskeletal surgical oncology, which is uncommon for most programs. Our faculty work together as a team to ensure that the fellow’s experience is optimized. Fellows may elect to work with our nationally recognized shoulder experts, as well and integrate into the CORE Institute’s shoulder and elbow fellowship program.

We are a young program, but for many reasons we already believe ours is a premiere fellowship program in a destination paradise location. One indicator of a successful fellowship is whether it can meet the needs of its fellows. Given the vast backgrounds and professional goals of our fellows, it can be challenging to graduate all fellows at the same level of competency in all aspects of hand, upper extremity and microsurgery. We are able to accomplish this because of our carefully constructed and flexible curriculum which our fellows believe is among one of the most attractive aspects of our program.
