The Psychiatry Clerkship provides an opportunity for our students to develop a solid clinical foundation to better understand the interactions between the brain, emotions and behavior.

The Clerkship is six weeks long and includes supervised assessment and treatment of adult, adolescent and latency-aged patients.

Specific clinical assignments include three weeks of adult inpatient, two weeks consultation-liaison, one week child and adolescent and several hours with outpatients.

The clinical experiences are complemented by a variety of interactive learning opportunities throughout the clerkship. Syllabus (PDF).

*For students who are participating in the Rural Health Professions Program Certificate of Distinction, you may experience part/all of your clerkship in a rural community.
