Yasmin Alishahi, MD, FACG

Brief Bio

Dr. Alishahi is the program director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship. In addition, she is a staff gastroenterologist at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center and a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.

Dr. Alishahi attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency and chief residency. She undertook her GI Fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center. 

Her specialities include the diagnosis and disease activity assessment of inflammatory bowel disease; medical therapy of inflammatory bowel disease; as well as health preventive measures in patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's Disease — in particular in patients on immunosuppressive therapy.
