The Dual Visiting Professorship invites two distinguished experts on a particular topic for a two-day event comprised of didactic lectures, debates, round table discussions and cadaveric demonstrations.

The topics will change according to the expertise of the particular invited visiting professors, but might include current concepts and advanced techniques and technologies related to upper extremity trauma, arthroplasty, congenital malformations and soft tissue and microsurgical repair and reconstructions. The topics are ones that are either: 1.) Controversial, 2.) New information but currently lack evidence-based support or 3.) Approaches to challenging problems, which there is no uniformly accepted solution.

The topics for the program often have no definitive answer. For this reason, the best way to extract as much knowledge out of expert testimony is to have them present a point, illustrate the point in real case presentations, defend it against another point and have the attendees reach a conclusion after having vetted out the topic thoroughly. Attendees will leave with not only practical knowledge, but also special skills having been taught and had the opportunity to practice these skills in the cadaveric laboratory.
