Why UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: Given the changing landscape of interventional radiology, I wanted to go to a program that would give me not only strong technical skills encompassing all that IR can do, but also clinical expertise to be a true physician as opposed to a technician. Additionally, I am interested in neuro-IR and U of A provides training in several neuro-IR procedures, stroke thrombectomy being the biggest one. On a personal note, after training on the east coast for my intern years, I am excited to be back on the west coast

Why UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: The IR program offers a unique experience in that it is a newer program in an established department with excellent faculty. I hope to help shape and refine the program from a resident’s perspective as a member of its second class. The program leadership is passionate about creating a welcoming and academically excellent program and curriculum. With rotations at Banner University Medical Center, the Phoenix VA, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital the patient and case diversity will provide a comprehensive and well-rounded experience. Also, living in Phoenix with perpetual sunshine, excellent food, and beautiful mountains and desert is the perfect location for residency!
