Program Overview

Summer Scrubs is a health career exploration program that helps young people prepare for their future in the health professions by providing the opportunity to participate in professional lectures, health-related fieldtrips and hands-on lab experiences. Scrub in this summer at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix! 

Session Information

The Health Care Team – 9th/10th grade options:
The Health Care Team sessions are for current 9th and 10th grade students who are interested in a health care career, but who are unsure as to which path to take. Participants will spend a week exploring several health care occupations by learning from medical doctors, physician's assistants, nurses and others who make-up the health care team.

Explore Medical School – 11th grade options:
The Explore Medical School sessions are for current 11th grade students who are interested in becoming a physician. Participants will spend two-weeks exploring physician specialties by learning from various medical doctors.

*Full and partial need-based scholarships provided by Arizona Latin Medical Association and Greater Valley Arizona Health Education Center.
