The selection of students is aligned with the mission and core values of the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Our core values include: Collaboration, Community, Excellence, Innovation, Integrity, and Servant Leadership. While all values are critical to our success, as we believe acknowledging, understanding, accepting, valuing, nurturing and celebrating differences in people best meets the needs of the communities we serve and is critical in the selection of our students.
To accomplish meeting our core values in the application process, our medical school follows a mission-centric review of each applicant. This includes a thorough review of the personal attributes, professional experiences, and academic preparedness each candidate presents. Moreover, additional requirements (citizenship, technical standards, residency requirements, and background check) are verified throughout the admission and matriculation process. Each of these components are paramount to your success and central to our medical school to ensure we meet our mission and hold to our core values.
