Overview

The Section of Complex Benign Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with complex gynecologic conditions through expert, compassionate and coordinated care. Our team specializes in advanced surgical and nonsurgical management of conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian or adnexal mass, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain and other benign gynecologic disorders.

Our faculty physicians are fellowship-trained specialists recognized for their expertise in minimally invasive techniques — including hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, robotic and vaginal approaches — that promote faster recovery, less discomfort and excellent surgical outcomes.

At the heart of the section are two multidisciplinary Centers of Excellence that bring together specialists across gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, radiology, urology, colorectal surgery, physical therapy and behavioral health:

  • Center for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding and Fibroid Management – Providing advanced diagnostic evaluation and personalized treatment options, from medical therapies to minimally invasive surgical interventions.
  • Center for Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis – Offering individualized, comprehensive care for patients with chronic pelvic pain and all forms of endometriosis, including deep infiltrating and complex disease

Through these programs, our section integrates clinical excellence, research, and education to ensure every patient receives care that is evidence-based, innovative and responsive to their needs.
