The primary training sites are all associated with Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, a nationally recognized academic medical center. The world-class hospital is focused on coordinated clinical care, expanded research activities and nurturing future generations of highly trained medical professionals who serve the community.
The Phoenix Campus, long known for excellent patient care, is the new home for medical discoveries, thanks to our collaboration with the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Patients with the most complex to the most common medical conditions seek us out for care.
Fellowship training is a longitudinal experience for the first nine months of training and is comprised of weekly sports medicine clinics within the state-of-the-art Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale facility which is an 80,000 sq ft three story facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. Additional clinics include the Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix - Sports Medicine Center, the free standing Sports Concussion Center at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix Sports Medicine and Concussion Specialists and continuity clinic within the Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix Family Medicine Residency or other departments depending on primary residency training. During the last three months of training, the fellows have the opportunity to complete electives of their choosing at the additional training sites listed below:
- Banner Cardon Children’s Medical Center.
- Phoenix VA Health Care System (musculoskeletal imaging rotation).
- The Orthopedic Clinic Association.
- Banner Medical Group.
The Family Medicine Clinic is an innovative primary care home for our patients and features a top-rated Electronic Medical Record (EMR), panel management and open access scheduling. Our patients reflect the diversity of the Central Phoenix population with patients of all ages including a high-volume maternity and pediatric experience.
