Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP) is a teaching hospital for students at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, and postgraduate medical trainees in various medical specialties including neurology residency program.
Inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
The inpatient service is provided in two main towers (Tower 1 and Tower 2) at BUMCP, which include 810 private patient rooms with 24 dedicated neuro ICU beds and 56 dedicated neuro non-ICU beds. Tower 1 houses our 8-bed epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) with an additional 25 mobile EEG machines for long-term monitoring. 3 conference rooms are assigned to neuroscience program with an additional 15 conference rooms available as needed.
Multidisciplinary Neurology Clinic
The outpatient neuroscience clinic hosts 26 examination rooms, patient consultation rooms, and a large workroom for trainees. Epilepsy fellows will have a dedicated office workspace with computer, storage, and phone in the outpatient clinic.
Pediatric Epilepsy Care
Banner Cardon Children’s Medical Center at Banner Desert Medical Center provides specialized care for children with neurologic conditions including epilepsy. The Children’s hospital has 248 beds and 11 rooms in pediatric neurology clinic. This facility has 5 conference rooms available. One shared workroom is available for fellows and residents during the rotation.
