Overview

The goal of our Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program is to train and develop a new generation of hematologists and oncologists to provide comprehensive, compassionate and holistic care to patients with cancer and blood disorders while caring well for themselves also. Trainees will benefit from clinical and research training in our nationally recognized tertiary cancer center in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Our goal is to train physicians to lead continued growth in the field whether through scientific contributions, clinical care, health policy, advocacy, leadership, and medical education.

This expertise from committed faculty members enables fellows the opportunity to learn clinical excellence in the fields of hematology and medical oncology as well as supervision and mentorship to pursue individual career goals during the latter half of fellowship through a variety of training tracks that reflect our academic hybrid model.

Our success as a program is defined by our ability to help each fellow achieve their career goals and excel in their practice of hematology/oncology.

Our fellowship program is a 36-month ACGME accredited training program based on ABIM standards for the training of physicians in the specialties of hematology and oncology. Our program provides advanced training in the diagnosis and management of classic hematological diseases, malignancy hematology, solid tumors, stem cell transplant, CAR-T cell therapy, and palliative care. Our fellows will care for a diverse patient population in the largest health care system in Arizona. They will become compassionate clinicians dedicated to the care of hematological and oncological disorders.
