How to Apply for 4th-Year Student Electives
University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Tucson upcoming students apply through the Electives office (Phoenix and Tucson) and Registrar (Phoenix and Tucson) at each respective campus.
Students at US LCME accredited or COCA accredited osteopathic schools must apply through the AAMC’s Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) listed under "University of Arizona-Phoenix" to receive visiting medical student applications.
To apply, simply complete and submit a VSAS application for your elective and preferred dates.
Please note: Only students enrolled at affiliated US LCME accredited and COCA accredited institutions may apply for an elective and must use VSAS to submit applications and supporting documentation. Applicants must also be committed to pursuing Psychiatry as a career.
Necessary Documents:
- VSAS applications requirements.
- Photo Identification.
- Additional information may be required.
Final Approval:
- Application and required documentation must be in order to be considered for a rotation. Upon approval or denial of your application, you will be notified via email.
- We do not recommend securing housing, air travel, and/or car rental until you have received Final Approval of your elective.
