Recognizes a faculty mentor for their exceptional dedication and work as mentor in an affiliated graduate program here at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. The award provides a $1,000 and an appreciation plaque to the recipient. Details regarding the award criteria are provided below.
Criteria:
- Awardees shall be a full-time UA faculty member who provide outstanding mentoring of graduate student’s training in the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
- Nominations may come from current or previous graduate students who conduct or who have conducted research with a University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix member
- The nomination package should include one letter from the nominating graduate student and one letter from a senior departmental faculty member or chair for a given faculty nominee.
- The support letters should include how the mentor provides intellectual leadership in research/creative activities, creates a supportive training environment for graduate students, and provides regular and constructive feedback to graduate students. The letter should also include a history of mentoring trainees at all levels in the laboratory.
- The letters may be no longer than two pages.
