The classes of 2027 and 2028 will continue to work on the Scholarly Project as part of their graduation requirements.
The College of Medicine – Phoenix encourages all interested students to participate in publishable, hypothesis-driven, data-supported research. For more information on research activity, research education and support, please visit the Research Education Website.

Timeline for Completion
- Year 3 (the clerkship year): The student and mentor meet regularly and continue data collection; however, the student's time to work on the project may be limited due to clerkship activities.
- Year 4: The student and mentor complete the data analysis with biostatistical assistance. The student submits a a mentor-approved thesis manuscript formatted according to submission guidelines of a PubMed indexed journal. The student submits a mentor-approved poster summarizing their SP that is displayed at the annual Student Research Symposium.
