Undergraduate: Austin College
Medical School: Texas Tech University Health Science Center – Lubbock
Residency: University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix/Payson Family Medicine
Career Interests: Full-scope rural family medicine. Some passions I hold within family medicine are hospice/palliative medicine, sports medicine and delivering babies.
Why rural family medicine: Rural medicine is an often overlooked branch of medical practice and I hope to be a voice and advocate for people in rural settings. I also really love rural communities.
Why U of A College of Medicine – Phoenix/Payson: I chose U of A College of Medicine – Phoenix/Payson because of the passion that this community has for rural medicine. During my interviews here, it was clear to me that the physicians in Payson love this place and the community of people they get to serve. They were incredibly warm, welcoming and so excited to have the opportunity to teach residents. It was infectious! As soon as I left, I knew this was the place for me. Further, Gila county, where we spend most of our time, has a great need for physicians, and it is a great privilege to have the opportunity to work here and help alleviate some of that need.
Hobbies and Activities: I have a dog, Merri, whom I love and give a large portion of my free time. Cooking has also been a large part of my life since I was young and still enjoy it now.
