Career Interests: I aim to build a career in full-spectrum family medicine, focusing on rural and underserved areas. I want to provide continuous, relationship-based care for all ages, including preventive, chronic, and mental health. I'm passionate about women’s health, addiction medicine, and community outreach.
Why Rural Family Medicine: Rural family medicine attracts me because of meaningful physician-patient relationships, diverse clinical experiences, and the opportunity to make a difference in resource-limited settings. Rural family physicians often serve as healthcare cornerstones, managing various conditions and building long-term bonds across all ages.
Why U of A College of Medicine – Phoenix: I was drawn to the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix for its focus on training compassionate, community-oriented physicians and emphasis on rural medicine in communities like Payson. This residency provides immersive, hands-on learning in a beautiful setting (lots of elk!), allowing me to develop procedural skills, learn from dedicated preceptors, and experience the rewards of rural care.
Hobbies and Personal Interests: Beyond medicine, I find fulfillment through outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, and rock climbing with my two goldendoodles. These help me stay grounded and energized. I also enjoy organizing events and fostering community, reflecting my values of connection, wellness, and discovery, shaping my personal life and approach to medicine.
