The University of Arizona Phoenix Campus Rheumatology Fellowship is a two-year, ACGME-accredited program offering comprehensive clinical and academic training in rheumatology.

Positions

Two fellowship positions are offered annually through a competitive selection process. The academic year begins in July.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a terminal medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution and have completed an accredited internal medicine residency prior to enrollment. All institutional and licensing requirements must be fulfilled at the time of appointment. The program sponsors J-1 visas for eligible candidates.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applicants are also required to register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Specialties Matching Service.

Fellowship appointments are determined through the Rheumatology Subspecialty Match. Selected candidates are invited to participate in virtual interviews, typically conducted in September and October.

The program participates in ERAS signaling and encourages signals from applicants with a strong interest in the University of Arizona Phoenix Campus Rheumatology Fellowship.

Accreditation and Certification

The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and fulfills the training requirements established by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Graduates are eligible to sit for the ABIM Subspecialty Certification Examination in Rheumatology.
