Overview
The mission of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is to become a preeminent destination for oral and maxillofacial clinical care and resident education in Phoenix and the Southwest.
In its ninth year, the division's accomplishments included:
- The residency matched two of its top selections from a pool of over 186 applicants for residency positions.
- Six former residents passed the oral board examination for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- One former resident passed the written board examination for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The division’s operative volume continues to grow as the faculty now provide facial trauma coverage at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. With three full-time faculty members, the division is also in the beginning stages of building a research program.
