Overview
The Division of General Surgery is comprised of master surgeons, who have trained most of the general surgeons in Arizona over the last 40 years.
The division addresses a wide breadth of general surgical procedures, including:
- Abdominal solid organ disease — spleen, gallbladder and small bowel.
- Simple and complex hernias.
- Esophageal and gastric pathology.
- Breast diseases.
- And more.
In addition, the division is proud to lead the Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix campus and community in the use of robotics for the management of complex foregut disease.
Our faculty have led several significant initiatives over the years. Bob Evani, MD, and Richard Perry, MD, division chief, have moderated the longest-running, multidisciplinary conference for the care of patients with breast disease in Phoenix.
The division is a cornerstone clinical team and a key component of the Department of Surgery. We have provided trusted care and leadership for decade and look forward to our division's ongoing growth.
