Funding Details
- Award amount: $38,000 per year in direct costs (1-year project term)
- Matching requirement: Applicants must be able to provide an institutional match of $38,000 dedicated to the project, plus a $5,890 administrative fee
- Eligibility:
- Projects must be focused on Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), and brain aging
- Both experienced and junior faculty members are encouraged to apply
Letter of Intent (LOI) Requirements
- A one-page LOI proposal is required by February 13, 2026
- Key review considerations:
- Demonstrating collaboration, particularly cross-institutional partnerships
- A clearly defined pathway toward future competitive grant funding (e.g., NIH or other extramural mechanisms)
Invitation for full proposal
- Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with notifications expected in March 2026.
- A full proposal is required by April 1st, 2026. Full proposals will be reviewed by the College of Medicine – Phoenix AAC committee.

Submission instructions (after review by the College of Medicine – Phoenix AAC committee)
- Submit the application to the U of A Grants Office by April 15, 2025, for internal review and approval.
- Following approval, final submission to the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium (AAC) website is due by April 30, 2026.
- Note: The investigator is responsible for completing the final submission through the AAC portal after internal approval has been obtained.
