Recognizing the Signs of an Eating Disorder

Wednesday, April 30, 2025 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

There is a misconception that eating disorders afflict only affluent teenage white girls. However, we know today that anyone, regardless of age, income level, race, or ethnicity, can be struggling with this disease. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics, the mean age of a child with an eating disorder is 12.5 years old. The reasons and treatments needed are diverse, but the first and most important step is to identify if your child is affected. Cindy Davis, MPH, RDN will share strategies to help parents and guardians identify the possible signs and behaviors of this problem. The presentation will be 30 minutes followed by a 15-minute Q&A.
