Amaris Tapia — a first-generation college graduate — was awarded a $35,000 scholarship by the Arizona Lottery. On Thursday, April 27, Tapia received the award during a surprise ceremony held on the college's campus.
Tapia — who's graduating from medical school with the Class of 2023 on May 8 — is the third student from the college to be honored with the award.
