Melissa Herbst-Kralovetz, PhD, is an associate professor of Basic Medical Sciences, as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology at the College of Medicine – Phoenix. She is also the director of the Women’s Health Research Program and Microbiome Initiative. Her research is focused on studying host-microbe interactions in the female reproductive tract, particularly vaginal bacteria in the context of women's health outcomes.
