Our residency program is dedicated to training the next generation of high-quality, respected physician experts in anesthesiology and perioperative medicine. Our program stresses the importance of a strong operative anesthesia experience, exposing residents to a variety of patient populations and practice settings. Whether it is caring for Native Americans who live remotely from health care facilities or providing anesthesia for surgical interventions to patients who have options for choosing their surgeon, we believe that a well-trained anesthesiologist should feel comfortable in any perioperative environment.
Our residents will rotate among multiple hospitals in Phoenix, including Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, as well as community hospitals, including Banner Desert Medical Center, and many others. This diverse exposure will provide unparalleled experiences and opportunities to refine the practice of anesthesiology.
Our Faculty are a broad mix of employed and private practice anesthesiologists and physicians who enjoy the mentoring opportunities afforded to them by working with residents. They are proud to support residents as they each develop their own interests as anesthesiologists and anesthesiologists with subspecialties.
Our residents will be valued participants in our program, particularly by serving active roles in our program committees and by actively participating in quality and safety programs at Banner University Medical Center.
