All residents complete a scholarly project during training, but the topic, scope, and format are tailored to align with each resident’s individual interests and career goals. Whether you’re drawn to clinical research, quality improvement, medical education, or case-based scholarship, we provide the resources and support to help you succeed.

Highlights:

  • Individualized curriculum: all residents complete CITI certification and receive guided support to pursue a project that reflects their professional interests
  • Patient Safety & Quality Improvement: all residents participate in a structured QI and patient safety curriculum that provides practical tools and opportunities to lead meaningful change
  • Dedicated elective time: Residents with more extensive projects can pursue a Research Rotation elective for focused time and mentorship
  • Faculty mentorship: Residents are paired with faculty members to guide them through project development, implementation, and dissemination
  • Conference support: we provide $1500 per resident, per year to support travel for presenting scholarly work – whether at local, regional, or national meetings
  • Poster & Presentation Resources: Residents have access to free onsite poster printing
