Non-Call Months
During non-call months, residents generally have weekends off. They have occasional assignments of “back up” call during these times, so that if a colleague on a call service needs to be out for a family event, interview, illness or other reason, there is a system for coverage. This is monitored for proper use.

VA Night Float 1 Team |
3 Interns 2 Seniors 2 Attending |
One senior and 2 of the interns are on each night from 5:00pm – 6:00am (the other senior and the 3rd intern are off). |

Every 5 days, one resident moves to cover nights (5:00pm – 6:00am) for a block of 5 nights. |
