CARDIOXPLORE is an opportunity to get hands-on experience while working with leading Research Scientists in a state-of-the-art laboratory at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
This twelve-week intensive program introduces you to the fundamental concepts, lab skills, safety procedures, research methodologies, and translational nuances found within cardiovascular science. This opportunity also allows you to meet and gain invaluable input and guidance from Dr. Christopher Glembotski, Director of the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center, and Vice Dean of Research for the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
During this twelve-week, intensive volunteer opportunity, you will be paired with a lab mentor who will teach you laboratory techniques and research methods as well as develop your scientific inquiry skills in preparation for future endeavors.
Application Requirements
- Attain at least a 3.0 grade-point average (unweighted)
- Junior year student in an undergraduate program or higher
- Participate and demonstrate leadership in a variety of extracurricular activities.
