Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix is a 700-bed, level-1 trauma center. Our team sees patients throughout the hospital including the ER, neurology ICU and the neurology PCU floors. Our multi-disciplinary Neurology clinic is in a separate building one block from the hospital with 18 exam rooms.
Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix is a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center and has had this designation since 2009. In addition, our stroke program has been recognized by the American Heart/ American Stroke Association for excellent outcomes with the highest award, Gold Plus Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, for the last two years. Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix is dedicated to providing the best care and treatment for stroke. The stroke program begins in the emergency room and extends throughout the hospital stay extending to Banner - University Rehabilitation department.
This includes administration of tPA, advanced imaging for emergent intervention, neurosurgical procedures, medication management and assessment for your rehabilitation needs or other services after discharge.
