- Poetic Medicine: A Prescription for Brain Health in Dementia Patients & Caregivers
Objectives
- To introduce the practice/intervention of poetic medicine.
- To explore the methodology used in dementia-specific sessions.
- To explore its efficacy for dementia patients, specifically, how it can stimulate memory and improve communication as well as promote the formation of new memories.
- To briefly explore the benefits and application of poetic medicine for dementia caregivers.
This session will be open to clinicians, residents, students and all others. It will be hosted virtually via Microsoft Teams, the amphitheater will be open for all to attend. For access to the Teams feed, please email Veronica Nundahl.
