- Management of Hyperglycemia in the Hospital
Objectives
- Describe the current guidelines for treating hyperglycemia in general and surgery patients in the hospital.
- Outline processes and procedures to and for an appropriate transition from the hospital to outpatient care.
- How and when to initiate insulin therapy in the hospital and after hospital discharge.
- Describe the evidence for using non-insulin agents in the hospital setting.
