Amaris Tapia, Class of 2023, recently completed the Rural Health LIC. She spent six months living and training in rural clinical settings as she earned credit toward her Certificate of Distinction in Rural Health.
Tapia was inspired to participate in the LIC due to her interest in helping underserved communities; and she credits her mentors, Jonathan Cartsonis, MD, and Judith Hunt, MD, as well as fellow classmate, Brett Clark, for encouraging her to participate in the clerkship.
