The UA College of Medicine – Phoenix Cardiology Fellowship consists of 36 months. Each month provides time for separate rotations. Outpatient clinics are mandated for one half-day per week and experience is divided between the Phoenix VA Medical Center and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. In addition, on average, there are six hours of formal weekly conferences.
Didactics
- Weekly:
- ECG conference “Big Board,” tests/board review questions, cardiac cath conference, CT Angiogram reading sessions and general cardiology lectures (hemodynamics, congenital heart disease, biostatistics, journal club article review, current guidelines, nuclear cardiology, pacemakers, electrophysiology, cardiovascular surgery, medical ethics, cardiac MRI, heart failure).
- Monthly didactics:
- Journal Club, Board Review, Imaging, Echo Conference, Grand Rounds, EP and Interventional Conference, as well as Professor Rounds.
