The neurology residency experience involves three years of clinical training and is designed to provide progressively increasing patient care experience and responsibility, culminating in the ability to practice independently. Clinical care includes weekly continuity clinics, inpatient rotations at three primary sites, a variety of didactics and conferences, electives and research opportunities.
Didactics
The general didactic curriculum has been revamped in recent years. It is grouped by subspecialty themes that changes every 4-6 weeks. These include daily teaching rounds and noon lectures that feature various topics within subspecialties, weekly neuroradiology, and grand round. Journal clubs are held monthly, and morbidity and mortality conferences are held quarterly.
The residents have a monthly meeting with the program director to confidentially discuss residency concerns.
