Goals and Initiatives
DD1. Make strategic investments in high-impact research programs using the most advanced technologies, with an emphasis on computation and multi-scale integration.
- DD1a. Establish competitive pilot/seed funding opportunities for researchers.
- DD1b. Establish grant writing/proposal support.
- DD1c. Leverage resources that are currently available across larger university (cores, computational, etc.).
- DD1d. Create programs for the cross-fertilization of ideas between clinicians and researchers.
- DD1e. Emphasize strength in neuroscience, cardiopulmonary, immunological therapy, health across lifespan and omics.
DD2. Leverage access to clinical affiliates' large diverse patient populations to accelerate discovery and improve quality of care.
- DD2a. Establish tech enabled streamlined access to clinical affiliate data.
- DD2b. Build upon and foster clinical learner successes in identifying research opportunities that result in notable presentations and publications.
- DD2c. Develop and target physician outreach and education on clinical research opportunities aligned to College driven trials.
- DD2d. Publish annual listing of current research areas of interest, funding, partnerships, distinction involving College faculty/physicians/learners.
- DD2e. Streamline approval process for clinical research across affiliates.
DD3. Create economic opportunities by translating discoveries into new and improved prevention and treatment modalities delivered at the point-of-care.
- DD3a. Coordinate with the Phoenix Biomedical Core (PBC) to target industry partners to further intellectual property (IP) development and advanced care opportunities.
- DD3b. Establish and invest in IP development office to support principal investigators (PIs) in marketing their innovations.
