Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony
Monday, May 10, 2021 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
*This event is by invitation only*
Commencement marks a student's transition from the classroom to practicing medicine. It is the end of the students' medical school journey that has taken them four years to complete, and it is the culmination of all they have worked so hard for.
This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony has moved from Symphony Hall to an outdoor ceremony on our campus.
To accommodate the change in venue, while protecting the health and safety of those in attendance, the college will host Commencement in a hybrid format. Graduates and their guests will have the option to participate in person (with a limit of two guests) or virtually. Graduates who prefer to attend virtually will join via zoom and be individually recognized. Faculty and staff are invited to join the live stream on the college’s YouTube channel.
Hooding is an important element of the ceremony, and all graduates will be recognized. Those attending virtually will be spotlighted as they are hooded by a loved one.
The cherished tradition of the procession led by bagpipe and drum corps will also resume! The procession cannot be livestreamed, but we will capture highlights and share them.
- *8:00 – 8:20 a.m.: Procession led by pipe and drum corps around campus.
- This will not be part of the live stream.
- 8:20 – 8:30 a.m.: Students and platform party to be seated.
- 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.: Ceremony, conferral of degrees and dismissal.
*Please note the event will start earlier than usual to avoid the heat.
