Caregiver Gatherings: Where Do I Even Begin? Making Sense of the Caregiving Role
Wednesday, October 28, 2026 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
You sat down to think through what a parent or spouse might need, and didn't know where to start. Maybe you didn't even know what questions to ask.
Caregiver Gatherings is a virtual space to belong: share what you're navigating, offer advice, or simply listen. This month, we'll talk honestly about how caregiving journeys begin, sometimes all at once, sometimes one small moment at a time, and the particular challenge of not knowing where to start.
Caregivers further along often hold real insight for those just getting their footing. This is not a therapeutic support group, but rather a casual gathering to discuss the practical aspects of caregiving.
We'll open with a brief look at Age-Friendly Health Systems (4M's Framework): what matters most, medication, mentation, and mobility, then turn the floor over to conversation.
You don't have to have all the answers. You just have to start somewhere, and you don't have to start alone.
