Overview
The Women’s Health Research Program (WHRP) aims to bring together our clinical partners — Banner Health, Valleywise Health, University of Arizona Cancer Center, Dignity Health and others — for a translational research enterprise to attract and retain world-class faculty, fellows, residents and students to the U of A College of Medicine – Phoenix.
Translational science helps to achieve health care innovation, bridging the gap between patient and biomedical research. The WHRP creates new opportunities to translate research efforts into strategies for augmenting patient care with high translational value to clinical practice.
In addition, the WHRP and Women’s Health Microbiome Initiative provide rich research and educational opportunities to medical students, residents, trainees and faculty. These experiences equip them with necessary skills to perform women’s health research, as well as to perform clinically relevant research studies.
