The program's high operative volume, resident autonomy, diverse clinical training environments, and balanced exposure to robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgery provide the breadth of experience that I believe is needed to become a versatile, technically confident general surgeon.

Why the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: I chose the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix because of its strong commitment to serving diverse and underserved communities while providing rigorous clinical training. I am drawn to the program’s emphasis on comprehensive surgical education, hands-on experience, and collaboration within a supportive learning environment. Phoenix’s diverse patient population would allow me to care for patients from a variety of backgrounds and better understand the social determinants that influence surgical outcomes. I believe this program would prepare me to become a compassionate, adaptable surgeon committed to improving access to high-quality surgical care.
Hobbies and Personal Interests: Outside of medicine, I enjoy staying active through biking and swimming, which allow me to challenge myself while maintaining balance and wellness. I also enjoy reading, particularly mystery and psychological thriller novels, and participating in book discussions.
