Why UArizona College of Medicine – Phoenix: I had a great experience as a sub-I and was impressed by the surgical skills of my chief and enjoyed the interactions between attendings and other residents. As someone considering general surgery without a fellowship after graduation, I wanted a program that would support and prepare me to operate after residency. Also, the exposure to academic and private practice groups is very helpful for considering possible career paths.
