Traditional Blessing Ceremony

We continue to welcome students from all walks of life and commemorate our unique campus cultures. On Wednesday, October 1, the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix's Office of Health Care Advancement will host a Blessing Ceremony to begin the academic year and celebrate all Phoenix Bioscience Core students of American Indian/Alaskan Native/Indigenous descent. 

All campus colleagues are welcome to attend this ceremony! The ceremony will be held in an area of the Grand Canyon — the outdoor area between the Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB) and the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building (BSPB). During the program, attendees will be acknowledged by a traditional healer from the Gila River community and offered words of encouragement and a blessing as they embark upon, or continue, their educational journey. 

Light refreshments will be served.
